About the Urban Guru
Max Kohanzad BRS, BA(Hons) MA, M.Phil (University of Manchester)
a.k.a. ‘The Urban Guru’ is a modern spiritual teacher distilling ancient wisdom into inspiring sound-bites for today’s weary urban dweller.
An acclaimed lifestyle coach, he’s a merchant of ideas, street philosopher, a spiritual guide, a mentor, a friend, a mirror, someone to talk to, a part-time visionary and doctor for the soul.
Max is a professional life coach, trainer and business mentor with over 10 years experience.
Max has provided personal effectiveness development training to a wide spectrum of audiences and has coached and trained more than 1,000 people.
He originally trained to be a rabbi and was the resident scholar at the Mayanot Institute in Jerusalem before graduating from Rabbinical College of America in 1998.
Worked for Rabbi Shmuley Boteach as the Education Director and acting Rabbi of the Oxford L’Chaim Society.
He then went on to complete an MA in Jewish Studies in 2000 and has an M.Phil in Religion and Theology from the University of Manchester.
Max became interested in Life Coaching and completed his apprenticeship under Jane Howitt a UK accredited Life Coach and became a practising Life Coach in the summer of 2000.
Max has been the resident Life Coach at “Octopus Health” in Manchester City Centre.
He is currently the senior Life Coach for Soulmate Lifestyle Consultancy.
Max is the Co-Director of the Campaign For Moshiach Consciousness
He runs Spiritual Life Changing Weekend Retreats in a Luxury Guest House near Bakewell.
Max writes for “Slim at Home” and previously had a monthly column in “EN Magazine” (for entrepreneurs).
